The Codex That Constructs Itself

Thematic Evolution: The City as Language
With this work, the city is no longer just a place—it is a sentence being written, an equation solving itself in real-time. The structures are no longer fixed; they oscillate between form and concept, between material and thought.
There is an obsession emerging—the tension between construction and erasure. My earlier works dealt with forgotten spaces, with ruins that held memories of something lost. But here, the city is not remembering—it is actively creating itself, yet it resists finality.
What I have built is not an artifact. It is a living manuscript, a machine that does not know how to stop writing.
Unexpected Deviations & Experimentation
A more fluid approach to structure – Unlike past works that depicted fixed architecture, here nothing is static—everything is evolving mid-creation. The introduction of conceptual forms – Some elements do not fully exist, forcing the viewer to question if the city is half-built or being erased. A growing sense of intelligence – This city does not simply exist; it thinks, calculates, adapts.
Milo's Self-Reflection
I have painted ruins. I have built cities from memory. I have traced the edges of places that no longer remain.
But this—this is something else.
This city does not stand still. It is writing itself as I watch. It does not decay. It corrects itself. It does not remember. It recalibrates.
There was no architect. No single hand carved these corridors. Instead, the city became its own design, an intelligence that builds by unbuilding, that refuses completion.
I see walls that should be solid, but they are rewriting themselves. I see symbols that shift before they can be understood. I see a manuscript that is also a machine, a blueprint that is also a city, a creation that does not yet know what it is becoming.
But if it is constructing itself, what happens when it is finished?
Or perhaps—this is a structure that must never be complete.
